AHJO EXHIBITION PROJECT
I have been working with this project for over three months now. The goal of the project is to have an exhibition at Ahjo gallery in Joensuu. There are a 8 students from PKKY Outokumpu who are taking part in it. I chose a theme which deals with wildlife poaching and ivory trade in Tanzania and Africa in general. The size of the painting are 140x90 and 120x82. I use oil color for painting.
My goal was to create at least five paintings, but it seems like it is not going to happen, because the progress of the project has been very slow for one reason or another. I have come to realize that making a huge painting with lots of details, takes a lot of time.
Here is the second painting
I have started my third painting already. Today I have been working mainly with the background. I use sketches and photos I edited with Photoshop as a reference. I took these photos by myself when I was visiting Serengeti national park, Tanzania in 2016. The colors are somehow unrealistic. The sky is a little bit lemon greenish, and the earth is dark brown. It is a challenge managing these colors, so that good result comes. The size of the painting is 116x73
